Imported Food & Goods:
The Imported food sector in India is growing strongly, albeit from a very small base, on the back of rising incomes, changing lifestyles and
retail expansion. Changing lifestyles and the boom in organised retailing have resulted in growing demand for imported food & drinks in
India. The market for such specialty foods has only begun to take off in the last four to five years and is growing at a rate of around 30%
to 40% per annum.
With the aim to increase the popularity and consumption of imported foods in the country Food & Grocery Forum India, 2012, will be
having a separate section for imported foods in the exhibition area.
Wine Village:
With the increasing demand of wines & to cater to the growing interest of wines in retail houses & restaurants it is our privilege to
announce the sub-event in Food & Grocery Forum India, 2012, the premiere food & grocery trade show in India. Wine Village is being
featured for the first time at Food & Grocery Forum, 2012, on popular demand from the industry. A dedicated feature on wines, Wine
Village aims to actively promote the industry in this thriving region.
ULTIMATE INDIAN WINE COMPETITION
This will be a one-of-its-kind 'Indian wines only' competition. Indian wineries need to send in their entries (labels/wine varietals) for
the competition by paying a nominal entry/registration fee. The wines will be segregated into several non-contemporary categories &
judged accordingly. All wines will be tasted blind (unseen) to ensure unbiased decisions. Wines will be judged by a panel of Indian and
international wine experts and sommeliers. French Certified Sommeliers will be moderators for the complete event and there will also be a
panelist.
GUIDED TASTING SESSIONS
There will be guided tasting sessions for guests visiting the show. These sessions will last for up to 45 minutes, will be designed
especially for consumers and will be kept simple. They will be fun, anecdotal, quirky yet informative. We can taste wines, spirits and beers
during these sessions.
GUIDED WINE SAFARI
Wine Safari will be a unique experience where trade clients will be taken on a guided trail by a sommelier to visit stands of various wine
companies. This 30 minute trail will focus on interacting with company representatives for no more than 5 minutes per company and
introducing their products to the clients. This will ensure that the participating companies get ample visibility, visiting clients get to interact
with potential suppliers and mutual business connections are established.
WINE-CENTRIC CONFERENCE
A sommelier will moderate a face-off between the three fronts of wine business of vintners in the country: Wine Industry Policy Makers,
International Trade Commissioner in India from an embassy and a domestic distributor.
Health & Nutrition Zone:
India is no longer a market where consumers prioritize taste over health. Consumers now look forward to value-added healthy options in
products, while they are still price sensitive. This makes it tough for the brands in the Health and Nutrition category to fight their way to the
consumer. FGFI 2012 makes a conscious effort to give a platform to these brands, hence helping them showcase their products and find
newer & better ways of reaching the supermarkets and to their end consumers successfully.
Concepts in QSR / Shop-in-shop:
The food industry is on a roller coaster ride as food retail has revolutionized Indian consumers' shopping experience. A rising appetite for
newer cuisines and instant food service has helped the food retailing industry to evolve to the next level.
The concept of QSR has gained immense popularity and has in turn led to the evolution of numerous other innovative trends. This has
further given a boost to the real estate industry, with more and more fast food outlets opening up in class I & II towns. Emphasizing on the
creative aspect of profitability, FGFI 2012 helps redefine the process of selling the dining experience in the best ways possible.
Opportunities for real estate companies to lease space in Malls, Food Courts for restaurants, dine-in, and QSRs.
Support Zone:
As the food and retail industry is becoming more and more complex with the coming of newer technologies, brands and demands by the
consumer, manufacturers are taking newer initiatives and spending even more money on improving their supply chain and other aspects.
No effort is being spared to reach to the consumer well and in time. FGFI 2012 encompasses the entire support zone of the food and
grocery industry with a dedicated section in the exhibition for improved logistics, warehousing, and efficient cold chain systems. And not to
forget, it is the single largest platform for all organizations engaged in the critical food support industry to represent themselves.
